WATER AEROBICS Looking for fun and relaxation after a hard day? Do you like water activities and want to have fun and shape up your body at the same time? If that sounds like you then water aerobics is just the thing! Water aerobics is a form of group exercise with a range of positive effects. The water environment is extremely friendly to your body, which is why young and old people can take part in this activity, whether in good physical shape or not, as it enables the individual adaptation of intensity. Its positive effects are also used for rehabilitation purposes since the buoyancy involved reduces the pressure on the joints (knees, hips and ankles), making it especially suitable for people with extra body weight and those having problems engaging in other physical activities (individuals experiencing pain in the joints). Water aerobics improves and maintains your physical condition, endurance, strength, co-ordination and balance. Water aerobics is beneficial for the cardiovascular and respiratory systems while the water also massages the body gently and gives people a pleasant feeling of comfort and relaxation and simultaneously reduces cellulite.
Water aerobics is suitable for everybody, regardless of their experience, previous training, condition or ability to swim, although the latter is desirable. The exercises are accompanied by music and carried out in the water that reaches up to the participant’s chest level (in Adventure World), sometimes without any requisites and sometimes with the so-called ‘noodles’. The exercise consists of a thermal part, an aerobic part, a strengthening part and a stretching part. In the Atlantis Water Park water aerobics is carried out every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 20.00. Experienced and energetic instructors will prepare interesting and funny courses that will lift your spirits and tear you away from your stress-charged everyday life. BIRTHDAY ANIMATIONS An Atlantis Party We can organise an unforgettable birthday party for your child. We offer 2- or 4-hour animations (adapting them to the parents’ wishes). The professional animators of the Atlantis Water Park will organise many water games (ball games, water polo, water volleyball, sliding, riding boats on the waves, various games with rings and boats, relay games, jumping into the water, diving and many other activities). All children will be served warm meals and drinks and there will most certainly be an excellent birthday cake. Should there be non-swimmers among the children, our expert swimming teachers will show them some basic swimming techniques. Every birthday boy or girl will receive a special surprise from the Atlantis Water Park. The birthday animations are suitable for children under 15 years of age. Birthday animations are organised for groups of at least five children. The price of a 2-hour animation is 13,50 € per person and that of a 4-hour animation is 16,00 € per person.
SWIMMING COURSES All our swimming courses begin with the forms of adapting to water – besides the basic six forms (adaptation to buoyancy, putting the head under water, looking under the water, exhaling into the water, adaptation to floating, adaptation to sliding through the water) we also use the two children’s pools to make the children even more comfortable while getting used to water. We try to intertwine the process of learning to swim with various water games which is a great stimulation and motivation for the children. All our swimming teachers are adequately skilled and trained to conduct these swimming courses. While teaching the children how to swim, we make use of various didactic accessories to make the learning process much more effective. We are well aware that the water temperature is extremely important for teaching children to swim; therefore, the water is heated to at least 30˚C which is without doubt above-standard, at least for Ljubljana. Special attention is paid to jumps into the water, which are part of the swimming course. At the end of our programme, all children are offered to learn how to dive by holding their breath, which is an interesting addition to the basic programme. Our teachers will wait for the children at the reception desk, take them to the dressing cabins and help them change into their bathing suits before the course and help them get dressed afterwards and then take them back to the reception desk where they wait for their parents together. We will do everything we can to meet your expectations regarding our swimming courses and get you to start enjoying both the water and the Atlantis Water Park. We organise annual swimming courses for children between 4 and 15 years of age. The courses take place once a week for one or two hours. The courses are carried out if there are at least 5 participants.
WATER EXERCISES We are all familiar with the saying: a sound mind, a sound body. One of the principal goals of water exercises is maintaining and improving health. With regular gymnastic exercises in the water, we can slow down the processes of muscular atrophy (reduced volume of tissue) and reduced muscle tone (the tension of the tissue). With gymnastic exercises we can also preserve our cartilage (which is extremely important for the flexibility of our spine, chest and the flexional range of our shoulders, hips and other joints). Thus, every man and woman can maintain the flexibility of their joints and thus ensure their freedom of movement as well as slow down the process of biological ageing. Water exercises represent an important therapeutic means as they help in the process of treatment and rehabilitation following numerous serious illnesses and injuries. Regular physical activity yields many positive physiological, psychological and social benefits. Water exercises are organised in Thermal Temple every day at 10 a.m. except on Saturdays and Sundays.
It is also possible to organise additional water exercises (free of charge) for large groups, if previously arranged.
